HuskieFurs Current Executive Board

President

Justin (FlarinthK)

Heyo! I'm Justin, also known as FlarinthK online! I'm a Fine Arts major focused on Illustration, and mainly an artist in general. I've been a furry for about at least half a decade, having an Australian Shepard fursona with floopy ears named Flare.

As HuskieFurs President, I cultivate an informative space about the furry fandom while upholding our values of inclusivity, self-expression, and creativity. With my background in art, I also encourage an artistic and creative environment to explore identity and different ways of self-expression while helping to enhance HuskieFur's visual identity.

I hope to be more involved with the furry fandom in the future, at the very least tabling at conventions or markets to sell various art products. I'm fairly active online so you might see me collaborate with other fellow artists and make art of their sonas every now and then! :D

Vice President + Founder

Brett (Ether)

Hey! Im Ether, founder and vice president of the club. I began this club years ago as a small telegram group when I first came to NIU, hoping to create an inclusive community on campus where people felt free to express their creative arts and talents. Im happy to say that the dream I had came true, leading us here today with this amazing community. This wolf has been a strong supporter of the fandom since highschool, and will work hard to ensure this community remains a place where life-long connections will be made.

I’m a computer science major, but I have also spent a few semesters studying abroad in China. 我还学习汉语。It was this time abroad I learned much more about the fandom around the globe, deepening my appreciation for the community. Im also a massive nerd for video games and tabletop games :3

Treasurer

Laguna

Hello, I'm the Tax Badger! An econ major here at NIU, with a particular interest in behavioral economics, I'm also a licensed Enrolled Agent with the IRS (and all of my work experience has been accounting-side). Forever DM by choice, you can also catch me in Final Fantasy XIV, playing Magic the Gathering, or playing any assortment of board games (I'm not picky!)

Social Media Manager

Micah (Maverick)

Heya! Maverick here! I’m the social media manager for HuskieFurs! I’m a meteorology major with some goofiness to spare. I enjoy gaming, chilling with friends, and overall just having a good time. A pleasure to meet you! Hope to see you around some time!

Event Coordinator

Calvin (K9Korvid)

Sup, I'm Calvin, but online I mainly go under the handle K9Korvid. I'm a Pre-Med Undergrad, hobby digital artist, and avid video game/ttrpg enjoyer. I've been in the furry community for around 8 or so years, my fursona being a edgy little wolfdog named Greyson. I might not post much of my art publicly, but I'm happy to be the event coordinator for Huskiefurs!

Faculty Advisor

Randy (Sassper)

Hello! I’m Randy, the faculty advisor for NIU Furs. While I’m new to the world of the furry fandom, I’m honored to support this creative and welcoming community at Northern Illinois University. I especially enjoy seeing students design fursonas, create original artwork, build fursuits, and organize events that bring people and fellow Huskies together. NIU Furs reflects inclusivity, creativity, and community, and I’m proud to support a space where students can explore self-expression and connection.

Former Eboard Members

Former President (Spring 2026)

Ryan (Ricoshu)

Welcome! As the HuskieFurs President, it is my pleasure to invite you to our vibrant and inclusive community.

I come from an extensive background of content creation, videography and writing! I have been involved in the community for a decade, with my main fursona being a dergal (dragon/sergal) named Rico! I take great pride in creating content to spread awareness about the fandom and upholding the fandom's principles of creativity, self-expression and inclusivity.

It is my dream to work professionally within the fandom, either as a convention organizer, content creator or multimedia artist!

Former Secretary (Spring 2024 - Spring 2026)

Matthew (Gus)

Hello, I'm Gus, Secretary for the NIU Furs. I am currently working on my Human resource management degree and also a minor in psychology. I am relatively new to the furry fandom, only getting my sona a little over a year ago now. I look forward to meeting more people who are furries and being able to have fun with others in the club!
